Installation of Aluminium Windows & Doors

A homeowner in Wanstead, London, wanted to transform a dark, cramped ground-floor extension into a bright, modern living space. The property originally featured small, inefficient uPVC windows and a solid back door that blocked views of a beautiful mature garden. The goal was to install premium aluminium windows and doors to maximise natural light, improve thermal efficiency, and create a seamless indoor-outdoor flow.

Our Solution

We designed and installed a fully bespoke aluminium window and door system featuring slim-profile frames for maximum glass area and unobstructed garden views. The solution included:

• Large fixed picture window to frame the garden vista
• Side-hung aluminium casement windows for ventilation
• Aluminium French doors providing direct garden access
• Powder-coated finish in dark grey (RAL 7016) to match the property’s contemporary aesthetic
• Thermally broken profiles for energy efficiency and condensation control
• High-security multi-point locking throughout
• Low-threshold cill for step-free garden access

Installation Process

• Conducted detailed site survey and laser measurements of all openings
• Removed existing uPVC windows and old back door carefully to preserve brickwork
• Disposed of all waste materials responsibly
• Checked and prepared structural lintels and sub-cills
• Lifted aluminium frames into position using precision packers
• Mechanically fixed frames to structure ensuring zero movement
• Spray-foamed all gaps and applied internal/external weather seals
• Installed double-glazed units into all frames
• Adjusted all hinges, handles, and locking mechanisms for smooth operation
• Completed full site clean including glass, frames, and magnetic sweeping
