uPVC Patio Door Installation

A Victorian terraced house in Hammersmith had an old aluminium sliding patio door that was draughty, difficult to operate, and poorly insulated. The existing door also had a faulty locking mechanism, raising security concerns for the homeowners. The goal was to install a modern, secure, and energy-efficient white casement patio door that would provide easy garden access and improve the property’s thermal performance.

Our Solution

We supplied and installed a high-performance white uPVC casement patio door tailored to the property’s rear elevation. The solution included:

• White uPVC casement patio door with two side-hung opening panels
• A-rated double glazing with argon gas fill for superior thermal efficiency
• Multi-point locking system on the active door leaf with anti-snap cylinders
• Low-maintenance uPVC profiles that will not warp, yellow, or crack
• Reinforced frames for added strength and durability
• Stainless steel friction hinges for smooth, controlled opening
• Low-threshold cill for step-free garden access
• Matching white handles and hardware for a cohesive finish

Installation Process

• Conducted precise laser measurement of the existing door opening
• Removed old aluminium sliding patio door carefully
• Disposed of all waste materials responsibly
• Inspected and prepared the structural opening, lintel, and sub-cill
• Installed new white uPVC casement door frame using galvanised fixings and expanding foam
• Hung both door panels on stainless steel friction hinges
• Tested opening and closing operation and adjusted hinges as needed
• Installed double-glazed sealed units into both door panels
• Fitted multi-point locking mechanism and tested all locks
• Applied internal and external silicone seals for full weatherproofing
• Completed thorough clean of glass, frames, handles, and surrounding area
