A prestigious detached home in Windsor required a new front entrance door to replace an old, weathered timber door that had lost its charm and structural integrity. Our Solution

We supplied and installed a Schüco AWS 70 aluminium entrance door tailored to the property’s front elevation. The solution included:

• Schüco AWS 70 slim-profile aluminium frame for a sleek, elegant appearance
• Thermally broken profiles to prevent heat loss and eliminate condensation
• Double-glazed unit with low-E coating and argon gas fill
• Decorative glazing bars (astragals) to add traditional character
• Schüco multi-point locking system with SecuTech handle technology (RC2 security rating)
• Heavy-duty stainless steel hinges with adjustable tension
• Low-threshold cill for step-free access
• Powder-coated finish in dark grey (RAL 7016) to complement the Windsor property’s exterior
• Concealed drop-down weather seal for superior draught protection
• Matching hardware and letter plate

Installation Process

• Conducted precise laser measurement of the existing door opening
• Removed old timber door and frame carefully to preserve surrounding brickwork
• Disposed of all waste materials responsibly
• Inspected and prepared the structural opening, lintel, and sub-cill
• Installed steel reinforcement where required for the Schüco system
• Lifted Schüco AWS 70 door frame into position using precision packers
• Mechanically fixed the frame to the structure ensuring zero movement
• Hung the door slab on heavy-duty stainless steel hinges
• Fitted the double-glazed sealed unit with decorative glazing bars into the door
• Installed Schüco multi-point locking mechanism and tested all locks and keys
• Fitted letter plate and matching hardware
• Applied internal and external silicone seals for airtight, watertight finish
• Adjusted hinges for perfect alignment and smooth closing action
• Completed thorough clean of door, frame, glass, handles, and surrounding area
