A period property in the historic village of Redbourn required a complete window replacement. The existing timber frames had deteriorated over time, allowing draughts, condensation, and significant heat loss throughout the home. The homeowners wanted a solution that would preserve the authentic, traditional appearance of the original joinery while delivering modern thermal performance, security, and low maintenance. The goal was to install flush fit uPVC windows in white, with sashes designed to sit perfectly level within the outer frame to replicate the clean lines of traditional timber windows.

Our Solution

We supplied and installed premium white flush fit uPVC windows throughout the property. Unlike standard casement windows where the sash overlaps the outer frame, flush fit windows have the sash sitting flush within the frame, creating a seamless, streamlined appearance that mimics traditional timber joinery.

The solution included:

• A-rated double glazing as standard, with the option for A++ triple glazing for enhanced energy efficiency

Installation Process

• Carried out a detailed pre-installation survey with precise laser measurements of every window opening
• Protected all working areas and removed old timber windows carefully, room by room, to preserve surrounding brickwork and internal plaster
• Disposed of all waste materials responsibly
• Inspected and prepared lintels, reveals, and sills for the new flush fit units
• Installed new flush fit uPVC frames using galvanised fixings and expanding foam, with fixings positioned to ensure a flush finish
• Fitted double-glazed sealed units into each frame
• Adjusted all hinges, handles, and multi-point locking mechanisms for smooth, effortless operation
• Applied internal and external silicone seals for full weatherproofing, finishing externally with matching coloured trims
• Completed a thorough clean of all glass, frames, and surrounding areas
• Conducted a final walkthrough with the homeowners to confirm satisfaction
