A modern purpose-built flat in Hammersmith required a new aluminium door and matching windows to provide access to a private terrace. The existing door was old, draughty, and insecure, while the adjacent windows were mismatched and inefficient. The homeowners wanted a premium, cohesive solution that would maximise natural light, provide secure terrace access, and enhance the flat’s contemporary aesthetic. The goal was to install an aluminium door and matching windows to create a seamless connection between the interior living space and the outdoor terrace.

Our Solution

We supplied and installed a bespoke aluminium door and window system tailored to the flat’s rear elevation. The solution included:

• Aluminium French door (casement style) with two side-hung opening panels for terrace access
• Matching aluminium casement windows flanking the door
• Slim-profile aluminium frames for maximum glass area and clean sightlines
• Thermally broken profiles to prevent heat loss and condensation
• Double-glazed units with low-E coating and argon gas fill
• Multi-point locking system on the active door leaf with anti-snap cylinders
• Stainless steel friction hinges for smooth, controlled operation
• Low-threshold cill for step-free terrace access
• Powder-coated finish in dark grey (RAL 7016) to complement the flat’s contemporary interior
• Matching handles and hardware for a unified finish

Installation Process

• Conducted precise laser measurement of the existing door and window openings
• Removed old door and windows carefully to preserve surrounding finishes
• Disposed of all waste materials responsibly
• Inspected and prepared the structural openings, lintels, and sills
• Installed steel reinforcement where required for the aluminium system
• Lifted aluminium door frame into position using precision packers
• Lifted aluminium window frames into position alongside the door
• Mechanically fixed all frames to the structure ensuring zero movement
• Hung both door panels on stainless steel friction hinges
• Fitted double-glazed sealed units into the door and windows
• Installed multi-point locking mechanism on the active door leaf
• Applied internal and external silicone seals for airtight, watertight finish
• Adjusted all hinges and handles for smooth operation
• Completed thorough clean of all glass, frames, handles, and surrounding area
