Aluminium Windows Installation

A modern detached house in Stanmore had original uPVC windows that were fading, warping, and letting in draughts. The owners wanted to upgrade to a more durable, stylish, and energy-efficient solution while adding traditional character to the property. The goal was to install aluminium windows with Georgian cross bars and top-opening functionality in white to blend contemporary performance with classic aesthetics.

Our Solution

We supplied and installed bespoke white aluminium windows featuring Georgian bars and top-opening operation. The solution included:

• Slim-profile aluminium frames in white (RAL 9010) for a clean, classic look
• Georgian cross bars (internal glazing bars) to create traditional multi-pane appearance
• Top-opening casement windows for safe, weather-resistant ventilation
• Thermally broken profiles to prevent heat loss and condensation
• Double-glazed units with low-E coating and argon gas fill
• Multi-point locking mechanisms with high-security handles
• Matching white sills and trims for a seamless finish
• Concealed friction hinges for clean external lines

Installation Process

• Carried out full site survey with laser measurements of all openings
• Removed existing uPVC windows carefully to preserve brickwork and internal plaster
• Disposed of all old frames and glass responsibly
• Checked and prepared lintels, reveals, and sills
• Lifted white aluminium frames into position using precision packers
• Mechanically fixed frames to the structure ensuring zero movement
• Spray-foamed all perimeter gaps and applied internal/external silicone seals
• Fitted Georgian cross bars into the double-glazed units
• Installed sealed units into each frame with top-opening hinges
• Adjusted all top-opening mechanisms and friction hinges for smooth operation
• Tested all locks and handles for secure closing
• Completed thorough clean of glass, frames, Georgian bars, and surrounding areas
