Aluminium Windows Installation

An apartment in Belgravia required a complete upgrade of its front-facing windows and door. The existing steel-framed units were original to the 19th-century property but had become draughty, thermally inefficient, and difficult to operate. The goal was to install white aluminium windows and a matching entrance door that would preserve the period elegance while delivering modern energy performance, security, and low maintenance.

Our Solution

We supplied and installed a bespoke white aluminium window and door system designed to complement the Belgravia townhouse’s classic architecture. The solution included:

• White powder-coated aluminium frames (RAL 9010) for a clean, timeless look
• Slim-profile casement windows with traditional astragal bars to replicate the original steel window aesthetic
• Thermally broken profiles to eliminate cold bridging and condensation
• Double-glazed units with low-E coating and argon gas fill
• A white aluminium entrance door with decorative glazing panels
• Multi-point locking system on the door with anti-snap cylinders
• Concealed friction hinges on windows for clean external lines
• Matching white sills, trims, and hardware throughout

Installation Process

• Conducted detailed site survey and heritage assessment to match existing sightlines
• Removed original steel windows and door carefully to preserve surrounding brickwork and internal plasterwork
• Disposed of all old materials responsibly
• Installed steel reinforcement where required for the new aluminium frames
• Lifted white aluminium window frames into position using precision packers
• Mechanically fixed frames to the structure ensuring zero movement
• Fitted double-glazed sealed units with astragal bars into each window frame
• Installed white aluminium door frame and hung the door slab on stainless steel hinges
• Fitted decorative double-glazed panels into the door
• Spray-foamed all perimeter gaps and applied internal/external silicone seals
• Adjusted all window hinges, door hinges, and locking mechanisms for smooth operation
• Completed thorough clean of all glass, frames, handles, and surrounding areas
