A loft conversion in Stanmore transformed an unused attic space into a master bedroom suite. However, the original window specification included small, inefficient units that would have made the room feel cramped and dark. The goal was to install premium aluminium windows and a sliding door to maximise natural light, provide ventilation, and create a sleek, modern aesthetic suited to the new living space.

Our Solution

We supplied and installed a bespoke aluminium windows and sliding door package tailored to the loft conversion. The solution included:

• Large fixed aluminium picture window to frame skyline views and flood the room with light
• Side-hung aluminium casement window for safe ventilation at height
• Aluminium sliding door leading to a small roof terrace (where applicable)
• Slim-profile frames in white (RAL 9010) for a clean, bright loft aesthetic
• Thermally broken profiles to meet building regulations for loft conversions
• Double-glazed units with low-E coating and argon gas fill
• High-security multi-point locking on the sliding door
• Low-threshold cill for easy access to the terrace

Installation Process

• Conducted site survey and coordinated with the loft conversion build schedule
• Confirmed structural openings matched precise aluminium frame specifications
• Installed steel reinforcement where required for larger window spans
• Lifted aluminium picture window frames into position using precision packers
• Mechanically fixed frames to the new timber studwork and masonry gable walls
• Installed sliding door frame and hung the sliding panel on stainless steel rollers
• Fitted side-hung casement window frame and attached friction hinges
• Spray-foamed all perimeter gaps with high-expansion insulation foam
• Applied internal and external silicone seals for airtight, weatherproof finish
• Installed double-glazed sealed units into all frames
• Adjusted sliding door rollers, window hinges, and all locking mechanisms
• Completed thorough clean of glass, frames, and surrounding plasterwork
