Bi-fold Doors Installation

A large detached property in Pinner had recently undergone a rear extension, but the existing opening was fitted with a basic sliding patio door that failed to do justice to the new space. The residents wanted a premium bi-fold door system that would maximise the connection to the garden, flood the interior with light, and add a touch of contemporary elegance. The goal was to install Schüco bi-fold doors known for their exceptional engineering, slim sightlines, and long-term durability.

Our Solution

We supplied and installed the Schüco ASS 70 BI bi-fold door system, designed specifically for high-end residential applications. The solution included:

• Four-panel Schüco bi-fold door with ultra-slim aluminium profiles
• Bottom-mounted stainless steel rollers for whisper-quiet, effortless operation
• Thermally broken profiles to eliminate cold bridging and exceed building regulations
• Low-threshold cill for step-free garden access
• Schüco multi-point locking system with SecuTech handle technology
• Double glazing with low-E coating and argon gas fill
• Powder-coated finish in White to match the extension’s contemporary aesthetic
• Concealed drop-down seals for superior weatherproofing

Installation Process

• Carried out precise laser measurement of the extension opening
• Coordinated with the build team to ensure structural opening was true and level
• Removed existing sliding patio door and prepared the opening
• Installed steel reinforcement where required for the heavy bi-fold system
• Lifted Schüco bi-fold door frame into position using precision packers
• Mechanically fixed the frame to the structure ensuring zero movement
• Hung each door panel and adjusted bottom rollers for perfect alignment
• Fitted double-glazed sealed units into all four panels
• Installed Schüco multi-point locking mechanism and tested all locking points
• Applied internal and external silicone seals for airtight, watertight finish
• Tested folding and sliding operation across all panels multiple times
• Completed thorough clean of all glass, tracks, and frames
