Family in Hammersmith wanted to replace their old, worn timber front door, which had warped over time, causing draughts, difficult locking, and poor security. The property, a Victorian conversion flat, needed a door that would improve kerb appeal, thermal efficiency, and safety. The goal was to install a low-maintenance composite door that offered traditional charm with modern performance.

Our Solution

We supplied and installed a premium composite door tailored to the property’s period character. The solution included:

• High-density polyurethane foam core for superior insulation and strength
• Glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) outer skin that will not fade, warp, or crack
• Traditional panel design with decorative glazing to suit the Victorian facade
• Double-glazed sealed unit with obscured glass for privacy
• Five-point multi-locking system for enhanced security
• Stainless steel hinges and letterbox with brush draught seal
• Choice of external colour (Chartwell Green) to match period aesthetics
• White internal finish to complement the hallway decor

Installation Process

• Conducted precise measurement of the existing door frame opening
• Removed old timber door, frame, and threshold carefully
• Disposed of all waste materials responsibly
• Inspected and prepared the structural opening and sub-cill
• Installed new composite door frame using galvanised fixings and expanding foam
• Lifted the composite door slab into position and hung on stainless steel hinges
• Fitted the double-glazed decorative panel into the door
• Installed multi-point locking mechanism and tested all locks
• Applied internal and external silicone seals for weatherproofing
• Adjusted hinges for perfect alignment and smooth operation
• Completed thorough clean of door, frame, glass, and surrounding area
