A prestigious loft-style apartment in Canary Wharf required a striking entrance and internal glazing solution to complement its industrial heritage and modern aesthetic. The existing doors were outdated and failed to enhance the open-plan, light-filled space. The goal was to install Crittall style steel doors to create a sleek, contemporary look that maximises natural light, provides a seamless connection between rooms, and adds a touch of timeless elegance to the property.

Our Solution

We supplied and installed a bespoke Crittall style steel door system tailored to the apartment’s industrial-chic design. The solution included:

• High-quality steel frames for unrivalled strength, durability, and a life expectancy in excess of 60 years
• Slim sightlines and expansive glass panels to maximise natural light penetration
• Double-glazed units with low-E coating for energy efficiency and superior acoustic performance
• Black powder-coated finish to complement the exposed brickwork and concrete ceilings
• Multi-point locking systems and reinforced glass for excellent security
• Thermally broken profiles and advanced glazing for enhanced insulation
• Quality draught proofing to ensure the apartment remains airtight and energy efficient

Installation Process

• Conducted a detailed site survey and laser measurement of all door openings
• Coordinated with the client’s interior design team to finalise the door specifications and finishes
• Removed existing doors carefully to preserve surrounding finishes and structural integrity
• Inspected and prepared the structural openings, lintels, and floors for the steel frames
• Assembled and installed the steel door frames using precision levelling techniques
• Mechanically fixed the frames to the structure ensuring zero movement
• Fitted double-glazed sealed units into all door panels, ensuring perfect alignment and weathertightness
• Installed multi-point locking mechanisms and tested all locks and security features
• Applied high-performance silicone seals for airtight and watertight weatherproofing
• Adjusted hinges and handles for perfect alignment and smooth operation
• Completed a thorough clean of all glass, frames, handles, and surrounding areas
