A period residential property in Ealing was undergoing an interior refurbishment and required a striking glazing feature to separate the main living areas without losing light. The existing internal doors were solid timber, which made the hallway and adjoining rooms feel enclosed. The owners wanted a design-led solution that would create a sense of space, add architectural interest, and complement the property’s traditional proportions. The goal was to install black Crittall style internal doors with slim steel frames and expansive glass panels to deliver a bright, industrial-inspired aesthetic with practical acoustic separation.

We supplied and installed a bespoke Crittall style internal door system in matt black tailored to the property’s interior layout. The solution included:

Installation Process

• Conducted a detailed site survey with laser measurements of each internal opening
• Agreed door configurations, glazing specification, and hardware with the owners
• Protected floors, walls, and adjoining finishes before work began
• Removed existing internal doors and frames carefully
• Disposed of all waste materials responsibly
• Inspected and prepared the structural openings, ensuring they were level and square
• Assembled and installed steel door frames using precision packers and laser levels
• Mechanically fixed frames to the surrounding structure, ensuring zero movement
• Hung door leaves and adjusted hinges for smooth, consistent operation
