Schüco Aluminium Windows Installation

A detached family home in South Woodford required a complete window upgrade. The existing uPVC windows had yellowed, warped, and allowed noticeable heat loss and external noise penetration. The homeowners wanted a premium solution that would offer superior thermal performance, a contemporary aesthetic, and long-term durability. The goal was to install Schüco aluminium windows throughout the property to enhance kerb appeal, improve energy efficiency, and increase property value.

Our Solution

We supplied and installed Schüco AWS 70 aluminium windows across the front and rear elevations. The solution included:

• Schüco AWS 70 slim-profile aluminium frames for maximum glass area and clean sightlines
• Thermally broken profiles to exceed building regulations and eliminate condensation
• Double-glazed units with low-E coating and argon gas fill
• Tilt-and-turn operation on first-floor windows for safe, controlled ventilation
• Side-hung casement openings on the ground floor for easy access
• Schüco multi-point locking mechanisms with SecuTech handles
• Powder-coated finish in dark grey (RAL 7016) for a sleek, modern look
• Matching aluminium sills and trims for a seamless finish

Installation Process

• Carried out full site survey with laser measurements of all openings
• Removed existing uPVC windows carefully to preserve brickwork and internal plaster
• Disposed of all old frames and glass responsibly
• Checked and prepared lintels, reveals, and sills
• Lifted Schüco AWS 70 frames into position using precision packers
• Mechanically fixed frames to the structure ensuring zero movement
• Spray-foamed all perimeter gaps and applied internal/external silicone seals
• Installed double-glazed sealed units into each frame
• Adjusted all tilt-and-turn mechanisms, hinges, and handles for smooth operation
• Tested all locking points on every window
• Completed thorough clean of glass, frames, and surrounding areas
