This project involved replacing an older timber rear door with a modern, energy-efficient aluminium French door system from Schüco. The homeowners in St Albans wanted a stylish and secure solution that would allow better access to the garden while improving insulation and daylight entry into the kitchen-dining area.

Our Solution

We recommended Schüco ADS 70.HI French doors — known for their sleek profile, thermal performance, and robust aluminium construction. The doors were customised in anthracite grey (RAL 7016) with slim sightlines to maximise natural light, and fitted with multi-point locking and energy-efficient double glazing. The doors opened outwards to save interior space and were designed with low thresholds for easy step-free access.

Installation Process

The old timber doors and frames were carefully removed, and the structural opening was checked and prepared. Our team installed the new Schüco French doors with precision, ensuring level alignment and secure fixing. Weatherproofing and sealing were completed around the perimeter, followed by detailed internal finishing for a clean and modern result. The entire installation was completed in a single day with minimal disruption to the household.
