Project Overview
A commercial office space in Harrow required a high-specification entrance door that would create a professional yet distinctive first impression while offering durability, security, and thermal efficiency. The existing timber door was worn, insecure, and let in draughts. The goal was to install a premium Schüco aluminium door in green to enhance the office’s kerb appeal, improve energy efficiency, and provide robust security for the business.
Our Solution
We supplied and installed a Schüco AWS 70 aluminium door designed for commercial applications. The solution included:
- Schüco AWS 70 slim-profile aluminium frame for a sleek, professional appearance
- Thermally broken profiles for energy efficiency and condensation control
- Double-glazed units with low-E coating and argon gas fill
- Commercial-grade multi-point locking system with anti-snap cylinders
- Heavy-duty stainless steel hinges for frequent use
- Powder-coated finish in green (RAL 6005 – Moss Green) for a distinctive, welcoming look
- Low-threshold cill for step-free access (DDA compliant)
- Integrated brushed stainless steel kick plate to protect against wear
Installation Process
- Conducted site survey and measured the existing door opening
- Removed old timber office door and frame carefully
- Disposed of all waste materials responsibly
- Inspected and prepared the structural opening, lintel, and sub-cill
- Installed steel reinforcement where required for the Schüco system
- Lifted Schüco AWS 70 door frame into position using precision packers
- Mechanically fixed the frame to the structure ensuring zero movement
- Hung the door slab on heavy-duty stainless steel hinges
- Fitted double-glazed sealed unit into the door
- Installed commercial-grade multi-point locking mechanism
- Applied internal and external silicone seals for airtight, weatherproof finish
- Adjusted hinges for perfect alignment and smooth closing action
- Fitted kick plate and tested all locks and handles
- Completed thorough clean of glass, frame, handles, and surrounding area
