A new build property in the market town of Dunstable required a complete, premium glazing package from the outset. The developers and eventual residents wanted a solution that would deliver exceptional thermal performance, abundant natural light, and a high-end aesthetic that would set the property apart. The goal was to install a comprehensive Schüco aluminium window and door system throughout the new home, ensuring seamless integration with the build schedule and compliance with all current building regulations.

Our Solution

We supplied and installed a bespoke Schüco aluminium system tailored to the new build’s design. Schüco systems are renowned for their German engineering, slim profiles, and outstanding thermal insulation. The solution included:

Windows:

• Schüco AWS 70 slim-profile aluminium casement and tilt-and-turn windows
• Thermally broken profiles achieving U-values as low as 1.3 W/(m²K)
• Double-glazed units with low-E coating and argon gas fill for superior energy efficiency
• Multi-point locking mechanisms with SecuTech handle technology for enhanced security

Doors:

• Schüco ADS 70 aluminium entrance door with multi-point locking and anti-snap cylinders
• Matching Schüco AWS 70 French or sliding patio doors for garden access
• Low-threshold cills for step-free access
• Powder-coated finish in a colour selected to complement the new build’s exterior

• Concealed friction hinges for clean, unbroken sightlines
• Matching handles and hardware for a unified, premium finish

Installation Process

• Conducted a detailed site survey with precision laser measurements of all openings
• Coordinated closely with the main contractor and build schedule to ensure timely installation
• Verified all structural openings were square, level, and to the correct dimensions
• Installed steel reinforcement lintels where required for larger spans
• Lifted Schüco window and door frames into position using precision packers
• Mechanically fixed all frames to the new masonry and timber studwork ensuring zero movement
• Fitted double-glazed sealed units into all windows and doors
• Hung entrance and patio doors on heavy-duty stainless steel hinges
• Installed multi-point locking mechanisms on all doors and tested every lock
• Spray-foamed all perimeter gaps with high-expansion insulation foam
• Applied internal and external silicone seals for airtight, watertight weatherproofing
• Adjusted all hinges, handles, and locking mechanisms for smooth operation
• Completed thorough clean of all glass, frames, and surrounding areas
• Conducted a final walkthrough with the developer and residents to confirm satisfaction
