uPVC Bay Windows Installation

A detached family house in Barking required a complete window replacement after the existing units had deteriorated beyond economical repair. Several frames were draughty, seals had failed, and condensation between the panes had become a persistent problem. The owners wanted a low-maintenance, energy-efficient solution that would improve comfort across the property and sharpen its appearance from the street. The goal was to install high-performance uPVC windows throughout, delivering better thermal insulation, enhanced security, and a clean, modern finish.

Our Solution

We supplied and installed high-performance white uPVC double-glazed windows across the front, side, and rear elevations. The specification was chosen for thermal efficiency, durability, and minimal upkeep. The solution included:

• White uPVC casement windows with side-hung openings and concealed friction hinges
• A-rated double glazing with argon gas fill and low-E coating for improved insulation
• Multi-chambered uPVC profiles to reduce heat loss and condensation
• Acoustic-enhanced glazing to front-facing rooms to lessen road noise
• Multi-point locking systems with anti-snap cylinders and security handles
• Trickle vents for compliant background ventilation
• Georgian bar inserts to front-facing windows to retain character
• Reinforced frames for strength and security
• Matching white sills, trims, and hardware for a cohesive finish

Installation Process

• Carried out a pre-installation survey with laser measurements of every opening
• Confirmed window styles, glazing options, and finishes with the owners
• Protected internal floors and furnishings before work began
• Removed the existing windows carefully to preserve brickwork and internal plaster
• Disposed of all old frames and glass responsibly
• Inspected and prepared lintels, reveals, and sills
• Installed new uPVC frames using galvanised fixings and expanding foam
• Fitted double-glazed sealed units into each frame
• Adjusted hinges, handles, and locking mechanisms for smooth operation
• Applied internal and external silicone seals for airtight, watertight weatherproofing
• Cleaned all glass, frames, sills, and surrounding areas
