uPVC Patio Door & Windows Installation

A residential property in Watford required a new patio door and matching windows for the rear elevation. The existing sliding patio door was old, draughty, and difficult to operate, while the adjacent windows were mismatched and inefficient. The homeowners wanted a cohesive, low-maintenance solution in white that would provide easy garden access, improve thermal performance, and enhance the property’s overall appearance. The goal was to install a single casement uPVC patio door and matching windows to create a unified, modern look for the rear of the property.

Our Solution

We supplied and installed a matching set of white uPVC patio door and casement windows tailored to the rear elevation. The solution included:

• White uPVC single casement patio door (French door style) with one active opening leaf and one fixed passive leaf
• Matching white uPVC casement windows flanking the patio door
• A-rated double glazing with argon gas fill and low-E coating for superior thermal efficiency
• Multi-point locking system on the active door leaf with anti-snap cylinders
• Stainless steel friction hinges on the door and windows for smooth operation
• Low-threshold cill for step-free garden access
• Trickle vents on windows to reduce condensation and improve indoor air quality
• Reinforced frames for added strength and security
• Matching white handles, sills, and hardware for a cohesive finish

Installation Process

• Conducted precise laser measurement of the existing door and window openings
• Removed old sliding patio door and existing windows carefully
• Disposed of all waste materials responsibly
• Inspected and prepared the structural openings, lintels, and sills
• Installed new uPVC door frame and window frames using galvanised fixings and expanding foam
• Hung the casement door leaf on stainless steel friction hinges
• Fitted the fixed passive door leaf into position
• Installed casement window frames and fitted double-glazed sealed units
• Fitted double-glazed sealed units into both door panels
• Installed multi-point locking mechanism on the active door leaf
• Applied internal and external silicone seals for full weatherproofing
• Adjusted all hinges and handles for smooth operation
