A newly built rear extension in Elstree, Hertfordshire, was designed to create a spacious open-plan kitchen and living area for a family home. The homeowners wanted a modern, cohesive glazing solution that would flood the extension with natural light, provide seamless garden access, and complement the property’s contemporary design. Installation Process

• Conducted a detailed site survey with precision laser measurements of all openings in the new extension
• Coordinated with the homeowners to confirm configurations, hardware choices, and colour finishes
• Removed temporary boarding and prepared all structural openings
• Installed steel reinforcement lintels where required for larger window and door spans
• Installed new anthracite grey uPVC window frames using galvanised fixings and expanding foam
• Installed new anthracite grey uPVC sliding door frame using galvanised fixings and expanding foam
• Fitted the fixed glazed panel(s) into the sliding door frame
• Hung the sliding door panels onto the roller mechanism and adjusted for smooth, effortless operation
• Fitted double-glazed sealed units into all windows and sliding door panels
• Installed multi-point locking mechanisms on all windows and the sliding door
• Spray-foamed all perimeter gaps with high-expansion insulation foam
• Applied internal and external silicone seals for airtight, watertight weatherproofing
• Adjusted all handles, hinges, and locking mechanisms for smooth operation
• Completed thorough clean of all glass, frames, tracks, and surrounding areas
