uPVC Window with Bird Guard

A residential property in Chesham required a full set of replacement windows. The existing timber frames were rotting, draughty, and difficult to operate. The homeowners also had a persistent issue with pigeons and other birds perching on the sills, causing noise and mess. The goal was to install energy-efficient, low-maintenance uPVC windows with bird guard sills to deter birds while improving thermal performance, security, and kerb appeal.

Our Solution

We supplied and installed high-performance white uPVC double-glazed windows throughout the property, featuring specially designed bird guard sills. The solution included:

• White uPVC frames with traditional side-hung casement openings
• A-rated double glazing with argon gas fill and low-E coating
• Bird guard sills with angled profiles and spike inserts to prevent birds from perching
• Multi-point locking systems with anti-snap cylinders
• Trickle vents to reduce condensation and improve indoor air quality
• Reinforced frames for added strength and durability
• Matching white sills, trims, and hardware for a seamless finish

Installation Process

• Carried out pre-installation survey with laser measurements for each opening
• Removed old timber windows carefully to preserve brickwork and internal plaster
• Disposed of all waste materials responsibly
• Inspected and prepared lintels, reveals, and existing sills
• Installed new uPVC frames using galvanised fixings and expanding foam
• Fitted double-glazed sealed units into each frame
• Fitted bird guard sills with angled profiles and integrated spike strips to all windows
• Applied internal and external silicone seals for full weatherproofing
