A new build detached property in Aylesbury was designed with a large rear opening to connect the open-plan kitchen and living area to the garden. The homeowners wanted a premium sliding door solution that would deliver exceptional thermal performance, abundant natural light, and a sleek, contemporary aesthetic befitting a newly constructed home. Our Solution

We supplied and installed a Schüco ASS 70 sliding door system tailored to the new build opening. The ASS 70 is a thermally insulated aluminium sliding door system renowned for its narrow face widths, outstanding weathertightness, and smooth operation. The solution included:

Installation Process

• Conducted a detailed site survey with precision laser measurement of the new build opening
• Coordinated with the main contractor and build schedule to ensure timely installation
• Verified the structural opening was square, level, and to the correct dimensions
• Installed steel reinforcement lintel above the sliding door opening
• Lifted the Schüco ASS 70 door frame into position using precision packers
• Mechanically fixed the frame to the new masonry and timber studwork, ensuring zero movement
• Fitted the fixed glazed panel(s) into position
• Hung the sliding door panels onto the roller mechanism
• Adjusted rollers for smooth, effortless sliding operation
• Fitted double-glazed sealed units into all sliding panels
• Installed the Schüco multi-point locking mechanism and tested all locks
• Spray-foamed all perimeter gaps with high-expansion insulation foam
• Applied internal and external silicone seals for an airtight, watertight finish
• Adjusted all handles and locking mechanisms for smooth operation
• Completed thorough clean of all glass, frames, tracks, and surrounding areas
• Conducted a final walkthrough with the homeowners to confirm satisfaction
